Information you give us
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect the email address you provide and the signup source, such as the page or form where you subscribed. The subscription is processed by Klaviyo, our email service provider. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any newsletter.
INCI label scans
If you use the scanner, your uploaded image is sent to the site's OCR provider so the ingredient list can be read. The image is used for that scan response and is not stored by this site. The scanner may log unmatched ingredient names so we can see which ingredient pages are missing, but we do not use those logs to identify you.
Technical and analytics data
Like most websites, our hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, request time, and error logs so the site can load, stay secure, and prevent abuse. The scanner also uses IP address for short-lived rate limiting. If analytics such as Google Analytics 4 are enabled, they help us understand aggregate visitor behavior and improve the site.
